DigitalSoundboard now provides Podcasts and RSS Feeds. The RSS Feeds provide text based announcements of our
Artist partners latest content releases! This new services enables you to be informed of new DigitalSoundboard
content the moment it is made available at our download store. Podcasts provide full length tracks from recent
releases as well as other audio content unique to our Artist partners, such as interviews
What is RSS?
RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication" -- it's a format for distributing and gathering content from sources
across the Web, including newspapers, magazines, and blogs.
As shown in the menu table below, you can tailor your RSS Feed to your specific informational needs.
You may happen to be a fan of Steve Kimock. You can now subscribe to Steve Kimock RSS feeds.
RSS Feeds are available in the following time frame options:
New Releases: Content released within the last 30 days.
Current Releases: Content released within the last 90 days.
Full Releases List: Full list of artists available Content.
How does this work? You will need a RSS Reader on your computer.
You may use any RSS 2.0 compatible readers to access our feeds. We have
tested Google Desktop and our information populates it's Web Clips
section nicely. Firefox users can add the Sage
Reader to your browser. Please note that we do not endorse any
specific RSS Reader. Our feeds are automatically updated when new
content is added to DigitalSoundboard.net. Each feed contains an
active link back to the specific content page at DigitalSoundboard.net.
DigitalSoundboard feeds are available in two flavors at this time, Text Mode and Rich Mode.
Text Mode: Basic text information.
Rich Mode: Same information as Text Mode with the addition of associated CD cover art graphics.
To subscribe to a feed, click on the RSS icon next to the feed you want, copy the URL of the page that opens in your browser address bar, and add that URL to your reader.

What is a Podcast?
Podcasting is a method of publishing audio broadcasts via the Internet, allowing users to subscribe to a feed
of new files. DigitalSoundboard.net provides our Podcast content in MP3 format which will play on any computer or
portable MP3 compatible player.
Podcasting is very distinct from other types of online media delivery because of its subscription model, which at
DigitalSoundboard, uses an RSS feed to deliver an enclosed file. Podcasting enables DigitalSoundboard the ability to
provide our users with full length song samples from recently released recordings as well as other audio content that
our Artist partners may want to share with their fans. Listeners may subscribe to feeds using "podcatching" software,
which periodically checks for and downloads new content automatically. One open source example of this software is
iPodder. Some podcatching software is also able to synchronize (copy)
Podcasts to portable music players. Any digital audio player or computer with audio-playing software can play Podcasts.
Both of our new services -- RSS Feeds and Podcasts are in BETA Test mode. Please provide any user experience feedback to
us at rss@digitalsoundboard.net.
